More proof law school is making me crazy

It is 9:40 PM on a Saturday night.

I am at Walgreens and I can not believe that they don't have any orange retractable highlighters...

I don't understand why staples closes so early on Saturday, nor do I understand why CVS has the exact same highlighter selection as Walgreens.

Why is it that I chose to color code my highlighters in a way that uses them in inverse proportionality to their availability?

I did salvage the night by ordering 50 highlighters from staples.com... But they don't get here until Tuesday.

Bad Inflation

I went to Wendy's before my special Tuesday class.

By "special," I mean the class that was moved from Friday to Tuesday. Normally a good trade, but when you have class three days in a row it screws over your weekend with reading.

I tried the new 4 alarm chicken sandwich.

It sounded good... You take a spicey checken sandwich and add some hot stuff to it. However it tasted like crap. The bread is different and the jalapenos add heat. Yet, the sum of the parts didn't match. The whole thing just tasted like a greaseball.

Plus, they changed their sizes. All the sizes are essentially the same, but they eliminated the small and now call the old medium small. Unsuspectignly I ordered a medium and got a 32 oz drink.

The kicker was my bill came to like $7.60. For Wendy's that is a total rip.

I would rate the Wendy's 4 alarm chicken sandwich as a 3.5 out of 10.

Big Dance Analysis

I enter into NCAA pools yearly. I never win.

This year I did some analysis about the chances of a team making the final four based on seed. here are the results of my final four statistics.

Seed - Odds of Making the Final Four
1-37.93%
2-20.69%
3-14.66%
4-10.34%
5-4.31%
6-5.17%
7-0.86%
8-3.45%
9-0.86%
10-0%
11-1.72%
12-0%
13-0%
14-0%
15-0%
16-0%

So, based on my statistics I picked the following final four:
Florida, Kansas, Texas, Louisville

I am probably way wrong... But I think I will crack the code eventually.

Also, for grins I did a similar analysis on the winning percentage of teams by seed in the first round.

Seed - Odds of Winning in the First Round
1-100%
2-95%
3-83%
4-78%
5-66%
6-70%
7-61%
8-45%
9-55%
10-39%
11-30%
12-34%
13-22%
14-17%
15-5%
16-0%

This isn't meant to be advice. Just some numbers to prove that you weren't completely wrong when you initially filled in your bracket.

Awesomeville odds and ends

It is sunny and 76 outside.

Days like today are why you buy a car with a sun roof. Too bad my car is in the shop and the Sweet ASS cherry red Neon I got from Enterprise does not have a sun roof. It belies logic to think that is possible to rent a car worse than a Neon, but according to the web site there is a lower level of vehicle.

The best feature on the Neon is the spedometer is 15 mph off. So, I was driving 90 on the highway and getting passed by garbage trucks... Perhaps it is in a different scale, like percent of maximum speed. Otherwise, there is something way wrong.

Anyways, my chances of getting some sun are not very good. I have a nice property assignment to read for tomorrow.

Rumor has it that the cases are good.

What's the time?

I am really feeling the effects of the time change today. I am worn out. Losing an hour over the weekend sucks...

Of course that was just a prelude to today. I had an 11:30 appointment with Enterprise Rent a Car. Well, they were 10 minutes late picking me up. Then I got to their office and sat there for another 10 minutes before anybody helped me. Then it took the dude 25 minutes to find the car that I had reserved...

Why do they wear suits? I know it supposed to make them look professional, but then they lose that facade after 10 minutes of acting like fast food workers...

Anyways, they cost me about 45 minutes...

So by my math, Enterprise is about 3/4 as powerful as congress.

Girl Scout Cookies?

I just bought $9 worth of Gril Scout Cookies.

After one bite of the new Lemonade cookie, I realized a few things.

1) The recipe for the cookie is probably some variation of the following: Saw Dust, Paste and stale cake icing.

2) If it weren't for law school, work and prisons, Girl Scout's would make no money.

Let me expound on the second point. Girl Scout Cookies are only popular to captive audiences. If you have the ability to go and get a good cookie you would never eat a girl scout cookie.

I was excited when I got my cookies because I was at work. I mean I get excited at work when I get a new email...

People were making a big deal about Girl Scout Cookies in class, but then again, for a brownie you can get a law student to vote for you as Student Government President.

I wonder if I can barter a box of thin mints for someone's Con Law Outline...

No Frijoles Por Favor

I went to a sleepy little mexican restaurant in Awesomeville last night. For some odd reason the place was packed...

Maybe it was the 99 cent margaritas, but I had never seen so many people there.

I should have known something would go wrong.

My order: Chicken Taco Salad w/ NO beans

I was served: Bean Taco Salad w/ NO chicken

I sent it back, and they brought me: Chicken Taco Salad w/ extra beans (my suspicion is they just added chicken to the order I sent back.

I guess there is no real point to this story. Just that I usually don't make special orders, and God is teaching me a lesson of patience and trying to get me fat on refried beans.

Actually... My guess is that God is probably not trying to make me fat. Maybe Xochimilco wants me to get fat.

Spring Break Madness

I have not been updating this blog as regularly as I should.

I do have a good excuse.

I slipped in an elevator in dowtown Awesomeville. As a result of the close contact with the urine fumes, I was blinded temporarily.

Sucky way to spend spring break... Blinded. Unable to read...

After a few days of darkness, I checked my email. Seems that my Con Law professor celebrated spring break by assigning us a book and half a dozen articles to read in addition to the normal course load.

Thanks!

Size Matters

Some douche bag tried to send me a 29 MB file over email...

So, it took me like 3 hours to get my email. And another day to download the file.

I called him and pretending like I was surprised that the email didn't make it through.

Hmmm... That's odd... The 29 MB email didn't get to me... huh? I'll look into it.

That's why video conference will never catch on. He would have seen that I was giving him the finger while I was expresses my shock that his monster file couldn't be sent.
